Their role is to promote emotional, social, and personal development in our students.  They help students to overcome any struggles or difficulties they might have. They collaborate with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community agencies. The BC Ministry of Education describes some of their many functions as including “counselling students, their families and the community to foster growth in the students’ self esteem, individual responsibility, and in skills such as decision making”.  Their goal is to to help students be prepared for the transition into life after high school.

  • Scholarship and Post-Secondary Application support
  • Personal and Social Counselling
  • Course Changes and Selections
  • Connecting to Community Resources

Ms. Filion's role is to help students in developing relationships, assessing needs and strengths, supporting children and families in the life space, and participating in systems interventions through direct care, supervision, administration, teaching, research, consultation and advocacy.
