Student Fee Guidelines

JL Crowe continues to strive to provide the best education we can for all of our students. School fees support our ability to provide resources and materials for our students. Please pay your students fees as soon as possible and submit a completed Fee Collection Form with payment.


Please note, the costs of consumable materials have increased significantly and funding for these materials has decreased. This resulted in a change to several of our project-based courses and departments. All students will continue to be provided with materials to complete basic projects for course credits. Students will be given the opportunity to purchase materials if they choose to complete an enhanced project. Specific details will be provided by teachers in their course outlines.

 

At JLC we believe no student will be denied access to programs, services or educational opportunities provided by the school because of financial need. Parents, caregivers or families needing financial aid (payment of school/district fees, fieldtrips, school supplies, etc.) are asked to contact the Principal or Vice Principals of the school to discuss the circumstances and make arrangements so that the student(s) has equal access to all the educational opportunities offered through the school. All information given/discussed will be kept confidential.

 

School District No. 20 (Kootenay-Columbia) is introducing MySchoolBucks (MSB) to use for electronic permission slips and online payments to approve your child’s field trip participation and pay for fees.

This new program is being implemented across the district.  Schools will be able to manage their cashless fee collection process for school fees, field trips and any other activities which occur at schools. 

 

MySchoolBucks is easy to use and convenient. Please view the attachments:

  • Memo detailing change from ActivityRight to MySchoolBucks (MSB)
  • Instructions to create your account
  • Which permission forms must be completed in MSB and need to be added to cart and checkout

The following permission forms are available in MSB now:  Daily Physical Activity, Acceptable Use of Technology, Indigenous Learning Consultation Form, BC Fruits and Vegetable Program, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA).

 

Field trip forms are not yet available, and a notification will be sent when they have been added to MSB.

Please note it may take up to 48 hours for student data to import from MyEdBC to MSB.  If your student is a new register, they may not be in the system yet. 

 

When parents/guardians are creating their account, the email must be the same as the email in MyEdBC.

 

Any support for MySchoolBucks is through MySchoolBucks.  There is a Help button at the bottom of the login page.  This page has a FAQ and includes information on what to do if you cannot find your student.  If the FAQ does not help, parent/guardian must call MSB for assistance 1-855-832-5226.  JL Crowe Administrative Assistants will not be able to assist with logins.
