Please plan on taking some time to go through this with your Grad/Parent as your Grad will not be able to take part in the below described activities until Grad 2022 Parent Executive Committee receives their completed applications:

Grad Weekend Activities


A very BIG thank you to all the Grad Parent Volunteers and sub-committee volunteers, businesses and sponsors and JL Crowe staff who have helped to make this magical weekend possible and share in the good news!


PLEASE HELP:  The Safe Grad, Grad Photo event at Gyro Park and Grad Prom event all require a few more parent volunteers for these events being held, Sat June 25th, please see Event Contacts for these events below to offer assistanceWe can’t do it without you!



Grad Weekend Activities listed in order of occurrence:


JL Crowe Safe Grad 2022

Event Details:

Safe Grad will be held on Fri, June 24th, 2022, in the Cominco Gym.  It will start 30 minutes after the end of Convocation until 12:00am.  Safe Grad is for graduating students only and is free of charge.  The theme this year is “Disco” with prizes for best costume and dance moves.  The evening will be filled with fun games, food and features a very entertaining Hypnosis show.  There will also be lots of prizes drawn throughout the evening.  Please watch for more information around invitations and sign up dates. 


**You are not able to sign up for the Safe Grad event until the Overall Weekend Liability Form portion has been completed and that info is coming by email to Grad Families.  RSVPs due June 3/22.


Grad Cavalcade/Parade

It is a new experience to celebrate our Grads with community members and our families with the City of Trail’s full support!  It is a Grad Cavalcade - a Grad parade celebrating our Grads in style!   This fun event kicks off our Saturday of Grad events on Saturday, June 25/22!!

Grads can choose to be driven or drive their own vehicles and decorate it any way they want (as long as it is respectful, celebratory, and non-offensive).   Decorations must also successfully adhere to your vehicle and not block driver’s view either in front or behind

Decorating ideas:  decorate like a true float in your theme/ Put your name and baby photos on your vehicle/Balloons and streamers/Go full Hollywood glam/Be original/Do nothing and just drive in your awesome ride! Maybe it’s a convertible… maybe it’s in the back of a truck…maybe it is on a scooter…. maybe it is in a vehicle towing a Grad in a boat…. maybe it is a classic car! There are some options specified to use your imagination! 


Vehicle line up time – 1 pm starting at other side of Old Trail Bridge past Riverside Ave, towards the way to Casino not far from downtown.   Volunteers will be there to guide you into lineup and water will be provided to all participants. Please do not show up later than 1:30 to line up due to the number of vehicles that will potentially be taking part and the timeline to the 2 pm start.


The Grad Cavalcade celebratory parade rolls at 2 pm SHARP through an identified route in downtown Trail (route will be posted on in early June)

Traffic control will maintain the intersections to ensure road safety is of top priority. The Google sign up form will outline more information including Drivers/Grads/insured information, etc.

After Grad Cavalcade, Grads make their way over to Gyro for 3 pm photos


Rules we will be strictly adhering to:

 - slow driving, specified length between vehicles to ensure enough room to stop suddenly

 - must follow specified route beginning to end

 - no throwing of anything from vehicles

 - participants must remain seated in whatever vehicle they are riding in

 - vehicles must hold proper insurance and must not leak any fuel or oil

 - safety remains with each participant - that includes Grads and drivers

 - No alcohol allowed

Gyro Park - Grad Photos

3:00 pm – After the Cavalcade event, Grads meet at Gyro Park (Rustic Crust pizza courtesy of Remax All Pro Realty and refreshments to be provided)

3:00 - 5:00 pm - Lee Orr Photography will have two photographers available to take individual grad formals; parent volunteers will assist with photo lines and & calling students (grads will be in alphabetical order)

5:00 pm - Grad class will head to Gyro beach for class formal photo

5:15 - 6:00 pm - Family & friend photos: Families can take their own candid photos with their grads and loved ones to capture this special day!

6:00 - 6:30 - Grads head off to Prom 2022 at the Colombo Hall

Grad Package includes (with no cost to grads except Prom buddy photos): 

  • -2-8x10 photos - 1 group print & 1 formal print per person & digital files pp 
  • -1-5x7 formal print & digital file per person 
  • -Friday evening, June 24th - 1.5 hr candid shots during the Safe Grad event
  • -Saturday afternoon, June 25th -Cavalcade drone footage video 
  • -Saturday evening, June 25th-Buddy photos: Prom 2 hrs, 2 stations, all the best digital files (grads can select and print their preferences at their own cost)


**You are not able to sign up for the Grad Gyro photo event until the Overall Weekend Liability portion of the form has been completed and that information will be sent by email to Grad Families.

Grad 2022 Prom & Dinner:

Date: Saturday, June 25th

Location: Colombo Lodge, Trail

Dress Attire: Formal

Start Time: Doors open at 6:15, doors close at 7, so make sure you’re there as dinner will be served shortly thereafter - if you think you will be late, please contact one of the Prom


End Time: 12:30 am

Tickets: $25/person

Ticket clarification: Any non-grad date needs to be born between 2003 to 2005 (one year younger or one year older) and tickets must be purchased by the JL Crowe Grad they are attending with. Please ensure your non-Grad date fills out the waiver as emailed to Grad families.

After Grad Photos at Gyro – freshen up and head over to the Colombo Lodge for Prom! The evening includes a buffet dinner catered by the Arlington Bar & Grill and vegan meals catered by The Roasted Chickpea followed by a night of music and dancing with Wyred For Sound Entertainment!



****You are not able to purchase tickets for the Prom event until the Overall Weekend Liability portion of the form has been completed and that information has been emailed to Grad Families .

Ticket sales deadline is June 3/22.

 **Please ensure you fill out your Consent and all related info by 8 pm the night before you want to buy Prom tickets for the next day, as we will not have the updated information otherwise for the morning of each Ticket Sales Date

Tickets will be sold at Crowe during lunch times on the following dates: 

May 19, 26, 27 and June 2 and 3, 2022

If cost is an issue for any student, please contact the Prom committee as above or Ms. Waterstreet as subsidized tickets are available.

**If you have any dietary restrictions/allergies please let us know when filling out the Prom Portion of the consent form. 

Parent Chaperones will be a part of overall Safety Plan in place, please respect those looking out for you to ensure a fun, safe celebration for all.
